Dr. Nogueira holds a degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, Brazil, where he began his research on medicinal plants and extracts to identify antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory bioactive compounds. During his Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, he developed chromatography techniques to isolate anti-inflammatory compounds and natural products for the treatment of kidney stones, as well as pharmaceutical solid formulations from plant extracts. As a DAAD fellow at the University of Münster, Germany, he earned his PhD in Pharmaceutical Biology, where he developed a novel strategy for the streamlined discovery of bioactive compounds from plants by combining metabolic LC-MS profiling, chemometric analysis, NMR, and chemoinformatics tools. As a postdoctoral researcher at TU Dortmund University, he focused on the hit and lead discovery phases of drug development, creating machine learning models for target prediction based on docking and chemical libraries. In the process, he gained extensive experience in virtual small molecule screening, molecular modeling, machine learning, and support vector machines (SVMs). With his recent experience in a Clinical Research Organization (CRO), he has acquired in-depth knowledge of clinical trials and pharmacovigilance across various clinical phases. Dr. Nogueira currently works at PMCR as a versatile pharmacist, bringing a comprehensive perspective to both preclinical and clinical drug development.
