Mari Carmen Martos Contreras is a dedicated bioinformatician with a strong interest in both biological sciences and computational biology. She studied her degree in Biological Sciences at University of Granada, Spain, where she developed laboratory expertise and scientific thinking in biological research. Her bachelor’s thesis focused on the use of explainable artificial intelligence (exAI) algorithms to analyze biological databases. She furthered her specialization in bioinformatics with the Master’s degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, gaining expertise in computational biology. During her internship at the Translational Institute of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), she developed data analysis workflows for analyzing immunological responses related to disease progression. Currently pursuing her PhD at Würzburg University, Mari Carmen is focused on developing automated workflows for epitope prediction. At Immuneo Therapeutics, Mari Carmen plays a key role in defining in-silico treatment workflows through multi-omics data analysis (NGS, RNAseq and single cell) and the development of AI algorithms. Her primary interests lie in the computational analysis of biological data to uncover patterns that can advance scientific discovery in the future.
